Bribery Act comes into force on Friday. Be ready.

This News article was posted on 28 Jun 2011 .

Bribery is a hot topic at the moment and not only for the FIFA Ethics Committee. The Bribery Act will come into law on July 1st 2011, rendering it illegal for an employer or employee to offer or receive a bribe, bribe a foreign official, or fail to prevent a bribe being paid or received.

A bribe is defined as a financial reward or other form of advantage with the intention of bringing about the improper performance of the recipient's function or an activity. Maximum penalty is an imprisonment term of ten years and/or unlimited fines so what are the risks for you and your business?
