World Class Service are delighted to be working with the Churches Conservation Trust on developing the All Souls Community Project in Bolton. The teams at All Souls and the CCT are dedicated to building and delivering a community centre which stands out as World Class.

Of course, they'll be needing a brand and a website that suits and we're helping to find the right agency for them to work with. Are you the right partner?

The brief

The All Souls centre in Bolton will open in mid-2013. The centre will be a state-of-the-art community and meetings venue and will be an iconic building within a Grade II* historic church. The church will house a mixture of services and organisations including a doctor’s surgery and activities for the local community. The centre will host and deliver a variety of heritage projects that tell the story of the building, local people and also collect stories of the neighbourhood as it is today.  You can read a summary and watch a couple of short films about the project here

We are looking for a consultant or team to design and build a Brand and a website for the All Souls Project in Crompton which reflects the stunning architecture inside and outside the building as well as the diverse range of activities taking place on site. The project and activities will be a mix of community and commercial and the brand and website for All Souls needs to be both flexible and tailored, to help reflect the different audiences through its style, tone and in the navigation of the website.

Part A: To Design the Brand and Identity

Part B: To design and build the website

The Churches Conservation Trust reserves the right to appoint different contractors for the Part A and Part B

Part A: The Identity and Brand

All Souls’ draft vision:

All Souls is, quite simply, a special place to meet. Established by the Greenhalgh brothers in 1881 for the wellbeing of the Crompton community in Bolton, All Souls now extends this welcome, offering a beautiful community and conference space that combines the latest facilities with the warm professionalism of its team. All Souls’ place at the heart of the Crompton community makes it the ideal base for crucial local services. Its unique beauty makes it a fitting place to gain heritage craft and traditional building skills. And its history as a haven makes it a special place where people come together to talk and be inspired. Why not be one of them?

All Souls’ draft strapline options:

  • A creative space, inspiring people
  • A special place to meet
  • Meet, reflect, create.

We are seeking the design of an identity which refines and finalises the vision and includes delivery of a name, logo and style sheet, including direction on fonts, point sizes and logo positioning.

Part B: The website design and build

The website design and build should include the following:

  • A Content Management System which enables staff at All Souls to effectively manage the content of the website, including all text and imagery. We would like proposals to consider what issues need to be taken into account in terms of accessibility (language, for the visually impaired etc) and we would like to understand the options there are to achieve low, medium and high levels of accessibility and at what cost.
  • We need to ensure that the system is able to deliver a range of functionality that reflects the varied uses of the building. The website should aid staff members, customers and the local community’s use of the building and be simple for all to use.
  •  A design and build which reflects the many uses of the building and aspects of the Project, allowing end users to effectively and easily find the part of the business pertinent to them including but not exclusively: The Community and Corporate Bookings
  • Compatibility with all browser software and across PC, Mac and iPhone/iPad platforms.
  • Indicative costs for web hosting and maintenance.
