The Manchester Hoteliers Association is a voice of the hotel industry within Greater Manchester and is represented by more than 40 members who are responsible for generating £250 Million of revenue into the city. The members employ almost 5000 people and provide 6000 bedrooms along with 50,000 square meters of conference space. Members include all grades of hotels who develop and support both leisure and commercial markets into the region.
Each year the Manchester Hoteliers Association celebrates its people through a high profile charity Ball and for the last two years through the MHA Awards programme. There are just 4 awards each year celebrating the brightest new star, the employee of the year (front of house), the employee of the year (back of house) and a lifetime achiever.
These prestigious awards are presented following citations from the fifty members of the hoteliers association and face to face interviews with nominees against a clear criteria developed by World Class Service and The Manchester College, reflecting the service needs of a world class city.

Congratulations to Manchester Airport, named Best European Airport at the sixth Annual ACI Europe Best Airport Awards in Milan on June 18th. Manchester won in the 10-25 million passenger category.
The judges were particularly impressed with the airport's approach to security.
