Welcome 2.0 Awards

Welcome 2.0 is a brand new national awards event which reflects the next generation of tourism and hospitality success stories.

The awards are a "best of" exposition as much as they are a night just for a handful of lucky winners. Welcome 2.0 is an advocacy and promotional vehicle for best practice and outstanding performances.

The aim is to champion the outstanding use of social technology and great service. The central event will take place at Concorde’s brand new hangar at Manchester Airport, the event will be linked to three other UK venues and streamed live online.

Welcome 2.0 is about how UK tourism and hospitality businesses are facing up to the massive changes in their industry arising from technology shifts, social networks, environmental changes, economic shifts and new opportunities. Welcome 2.0 celebrates and raises the profile of the best companies, the best ideas and the best visitor experiences as well as the most talented individuals. Welcome 2.0 is about service and technology in the second decade of the 21st century.

Welcome 2.0 demonstrates global leadership, picking up key shifts in one of the world’s biggest business sectors; tourism and celebrating the best the UK has to offer. The Awards make the most of Manchester’s original and modern outlook, the project partners are MAG and World Class Service Ltd.

    The judges were particularly impressed with the airport's approach to security.
