Free wi-fi is the number one requirement for guests

This News article was posted on 20 Apr 2011 .

Of the 6,396 hotels and B&Bs listed in the 2010 AA guide, only 58% had Wi-Fi access. Worryingly, for the remaining 42%, customers ranked free Wi-Fi access as their number one requirement, above even a comfortable mattress, when selecting a hotel (source: JD Power & Associates survey of 50,000 consumers.)

For those who do have Wi-Fi, it is essential that staff are trained to be able to help guests access it. 50% of guests will complain to the front desk about problems with Wi-Fi and the staff need to be able to deal with it.
